readymade, remade, unmade

some old stuff. i have been too buzy to make things or take pictures.

the magic 8 ball for lissa. she wanted one that always says something positive. all i could fit was "YES". it is affirming more than positive. it has a nice weight and density, not like an apple but like a barely ripe nectarine. i got a lot done while driving the van to portland for content changes. that was just densifying, shaping, adding more wool- not too dangerous to do while driving, don't worry. i could have just felted the ball in the washing machine which would have been WAY easier and MUCH less time consuming but for whatever reason i feel like a purist- every part of every project should only be needle felted with a wool core. no foam or soap. when my hands shrivel up like dried squids maybe my mind will change. until then, i will get back to work. maybe more today or another day.

You make stuff that I desire!

I needed to see this video after such an weird and wonderful weekend.  Since the Leslie Hall shrine already exists (wonderfully executed!) some other altar needs to exist to honor crafting heroes and goddesses. There must be menfolk worth mentioning too... I think more of art than craft (differences to be discussed at some later date) like Deth P. Sun, Mark Rothko (thanks Marla!), Mark Ryden, Man Ray and the rest.

Pictures of in-progress projects to follow!
